Renewable Energy Simulation & Performance Modelling

For our clients investing in the development or upgrade of their renewable energy systems, we deliver accurate, visually compelling simulations that balance both the technical and commercial considerations of renewable energy projects. Our modelling approach is designed to provide clarity at every stage, enabling clients to make confident, well-informed decisions.
Our design and simulation services encompass Solar PV, electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), and energy storage systems (ESS). Each simulation is supported by site specific data and detailed fiscal analysis, providing robust and transparent return on investment forecasts tailored to your specific project objectives.
To ensure the highest level of accuracy, we integrate site-specific load profiles using annual half-hour consumption data. This allows our simulations to reflect real operational conditions rather than generic assumptions. We also undertake detailed shading analysis to assess environmental impacts on system performance, ensuring optimal system layout and maximum energy yield.
Our technical capability extends across multiple system configurations, including string inverter, module-level power electronics, and optimiser-based solutions. By modelling a range of options, we identify the most efficient, reliable, and commercially viable system for each project.
We bring proven expertise, technical rigour, and commercial insight to every scheme we support.
Why Choose Us?
Comprehensive Solar PV, EVSE & ESS simulations covering the full spectrum of renewable energy technologies.
Detailed fiscal calculations and return on investment forecasting.
Integration of half-hourly load profiles to accurately reflect real-world energy usage.
Advanced and accurate shading analysis to optimise system placement and long-term performance.
Flexible system configuration modeling using string inverter, module-level power electronics, and optimiser simulations.

IDNOs & Power Purchase Agreements

A Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is a long-term contractual arrangement between an electricity producer and an energy consumer. Under this model, the producer develops, installs, owns, and operates a renewable energy system, (most commonly Solar PV), on or near the customer’s premises.
The producer typically takes responsibility for system design, securing permissions, and managing installation at little to no upfront cost to the customer. In return, the customer agrees to purchase the electricity generated by the system at a pre-agreed, reduced tariff. This allows the customer to offset electricity purchased from their utility provider, while the developer benefits from a stable, long-term revenue stream.
PPAs define the commercial terms of the agreement, including electricity pricing, contract duration, and expected energy volumes. These contracts are usually long-term, typically ranging from 10 to 25 years. Throughout the agreement, the developer remains responsible for the operation and maintenance of the system. At the end of the contract, customers may extend the PPA, purchase the system, or have it removed.
How On-Site Solar PV PPAs Work
On-site Solar PV power purchase agreements generally involve either a large-scale rooftop installation on a commercial or industrial building, or a ground-mounted solar array located on adjacent or nearby land.
For a successful on-site solar PV PPA, the following conditions are typically required:
- A suitable electricity demand profile that is large, consistent, and aligned with solar generation patterns.
- Adequate roof or land space to host the solar PV system, considering layout, pitch, and obstructions.
- A viable and affordable connection to the local electricity distribution network.
- Sufficient creditworthiness of the energy consumer to support asset financing.
Benefits of Power Purchase Agreements
- Immediate reduction in energy costs through long-term, fixed-price renewable electricity.
- No upfront capital investment required from the energy consumer.
- Minimal operational risk, with maintenance and performance responsibility retained by the developer.
At EnerGenix Engineering, we offer a finance solution to commercial customers that has allowed many organisations to bring their clean energy projects to life.
Our model eliminates the need for UK businesses to fund their project with upfront CAPEX or OPEX investment and allows you to benefit immediately from cost and carbon savings. We’ll finance a purpose-built solution for your energy needs, allowing clean electricity to be secured at a lower rate than the National Grid.
We use our in-depth solar energy project expertise to produce a data-led economic model, which can also facilitate your business case and financial planning.
